jumper: primark
shorts: miss selfridge
ring: topshop

I'm completely appalled that it's Sunday night already! Time goes way too quickly and somehow it's November tomorrow too! This also means that I turn 20 in 29 days, and I have nothing planned yet. Obviously I need to get my ass into gear for that! I have literally no idea what I want to do, so any ideas would be very welcome :)

Last night I went to my friend's house for a little Halloween gathering. I don't have much money to dress up properly so I just threw some stuff together and eventually became Harley Quinn (the Arkham Asylum version though of course)! I know it's not very impressive but at least it was an effort!

The other day I bought this jumper from Primark, I so wish I'd have gotten a bigger size (I bought a 10) so it was really baggy, but maybe this is OK after all! I feel a little bit like a robber in it, hence the title (since I've also been eating way too much junk food lately)! The ring is from Topshop if anyone wanted to know!

My boyfriend let me order a few bits I had on this year's Christmas list tonight. I'm really annoyed I didn't see this ring and order it but it's too late now! I'll just have to hope I find the H&M version (without broken antlers!) soon instead! If anyone wants to see what I ordered, you can see here!

I forgot to eat dinner today (not exactly a rare occurrence lately!) so I just heated up some Heinz tomato soup and am scoffing on Pringles instead! Such a healthy hamster I know!

weekend wishlist #005

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

After spending five years in bottle green school uniform, I never imagined that I'd ever want to wear anything else in the same colour! I like the burgundy version of the dress too but I seem to be obsessing over that shade right now! I've wanted those Chanel inspired glasses for months now, I just don't know if I can justify paying double the price just to get them shipped to the UK (hello Christmas list!). I've been looking for some new mittens/gloves for ages and those bear ones will be perfect as I can't have my fingers covered when I use my iPhone! The kitty lipstick is a ridiculous want as I highly doubt I will ever use it, and the patent Mary-Janes seem almost too glorious to wear! Last but certainly not least I need your help - I can't decide between a plain tan satchel or the leopard print one I posted a couple of weeks ago! What do you think?

les fleurs

Before I hop into bed to snuggle up with a Pixar film and some hot chocolate, I feel a little post is in order! I always say little when in fact it's near enough a novel but never mind..

L-R: Disney Couture, Topshop (x2) and Henry Holland

I finally wore my Topshop Peter Pan tunic today! I don't know why I waited so long. I guess I didn't really know what to wear it with and in the end I went for leggings as it's a bit too see-through for just tights! I can't stop wearing my £7 Primark cardigans at the moment! I definitely couldn't justify paying like £48 for a Topshop one.

After a long day at uni (in the library, no less) I met my parents in town for a Chinese buffet. I really wasn't feeling it so I went to Lewis' house for a bit instead! On my way I popped into Miss Selfridge to quickly see if they had this dress..

It's only available in the petite range so I got a 10 (I'm usually an 8) but it feels quite tight on the arms! I looked for a 12 but to no avail and that just so happens to be the only size that is out of stock online too! Originally it was £39 so it was a nice surprise to be greeted with a '£15 off' sticker on the tag. I'll probably keep it, I just hope it's tight because of the material (kind of swimwear-like?) - I doubt a size 14 would look right on me somehow!

Also I hope nobody minds the fact that I look like a cherub! My hair is annoying me no end lately so I just pinned it up for these snaps, and in turn you all get to see my 'moon face' in all its glory! All the signs point to a lifestyle change don't they?! Send any healthy eating tips my way pronto!

a (not so) little update

Currently getting distracted with Sunday night television and using my Sharpies on less unimportant things! It was freezing at work today, and it felt like we were in a ghost town it was that quiet! I managed to not spend any of my money though, which is pretty much a first for me! I'm so bad with money but seeing as it's almost Christmas (it really is!) I think it's best I get everyone's presents out of the way first!

Talking of presents, my mum gave up with calling me totally sad and told me she's going to buy me a Lots-O-Huggin Bear for my birthday! I've wanted one for ages but whenever I look they're out of stock! I don't care if I'm a big kid for wanting one so bad (die hard Toy Story fan right here!).

I really, really can't wait to get my hair done. As much as I love being blonde at times, the colour is messy and is starting to wash me out as I lose my tan! I think I'm going to go for my natural shade (a medium golden brown) and possibly have some blonde bits in the sides a la Elle Macpherson only more subtle. Decisions, decisions!

Another self-indulgent topic, but oh well! My eyebrows are annoying me SO much as of late. I'm trying to grow them - as usual - and they seem to like to wind me up.. one's perfectly square-ish and the other is as round as the moon! Needless to say I am glad I have a fringe right now! I've been using RapidLash (yes, on my eyebrows rather than my lashes - they're long enough already!) for as long as I can remember but to no avail, I think my brows are just pretty much retarded and that's that..

Yesterday I had the worst headache I've ever experienced. I tried to sleep it off at about 3pm and woke up a few hours later, and by then it had only gotten more painful! It felt like my brain was too big for my skull and as if my whole head was going to explode. I couldn't cry much even though it was really hurting because that made things worse! I got in such a state that Beigel (my tiny dog) must have sensed my distress and came up on my bed to calm me down with cuddles. He's the best thing in my life by at least a thousand miles! <3

I know it sounds so ridiculous but I'm super excited to be getting my new bedroom door fitted on Tuesday! I haven't had a door since April, which can obviously be really annoying! It won't be long before I can fully appreciate being able to walk around in my underwear without caring about damaging anyone's eyesight!

I need to get cracking with my uni work now as I have a case conference (student-tutor discussion thing.. eek) coming up in a couple days! I'll no doubt be getting high off the glue during the huge up and coming cut-and-stick session!

PS. Sincere apologies for this snooze-fest of a post, you're probably all asleep now!

weekend wishlist #004

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Originally I was going to post this dress but it's £95 (!!!) and even though I wanted it just a little bit more after seeing Rebecca from the X Factor wearing it in a rehearsals clip last night, I really can't justify it! I think the floral option is a little more realistic. Since I saw Gem's rabbit ring I've wanted one of my own, it's so chunky and cute! It's getting colder so that only means I just have to buy some new knitwear (inspired by LLYMLRS) and a decent hair treatment won't go amiss! Also I'd really like to know if the MAC Prowear Concealer is any good..?

black and blue

blouse: asos
cardigan: primark
socks: topshop
brogues: office

This weekend has been so tiring, even if I've hardly lifted a finger. Yesterday I went to Kent to see my baby cousins (youngest is 2 tomorrow, how cute!) and my grandad. I had a lovely time! I overslept today because of getting back so late last night, and my bus had come early so I'd already missed it when I got to the bus stop!

I've been determined to wear my swallow print blouse for ages now, I've had it for over a month! I've always been a bit on the fence about wearing navy and black together as the shades are so similar but different at the same time, but I plucked up my wardrobe courage and just went with it!

Lewis came to meet me at work for my lunch break, but in the end I didn't even eat anything and went to Topshop instead! I really need to stop spending all my money. There was only one of my size left in each of the items I got though, so that's a good enough excuse I guess! Also spotted the tan heels I posted in the store, I nearly cried.

I already have this dress in a toffee shade, but since I saw a black version I've just been thinking "ohhh that will just go with everything and I will wear it all the time!" so I rushed to the till. I saw that a ring I'd had my eye on had arrived in store too, and even though it was a medium (I usually wear a small) I got it anyway. I'm kind of annoyed that it fits because I want to keep it now!

I'm off for a quick soak in the tub (complete with lots of bubbles as always!) before snuggling up in bed with my sketchbooks and X Factor, what a perfectly ordinary Sunday night! Toodles!

weekend wishlist #003

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

I'm pretty much just lusting after lots of goodies that I don't need (as per!). Lately I feel like I can never have too many Peter Pan collars, and I also can't get enough of leopard print! I've spotted a couple of 'inspired' items here and there, based on the Miu Miu SS10 cat print platforms (forever in my heart!) and the Mulberry leopard print Alexa bag which I can't wait to get my hands on! I feel a little weird about buying the shoes as they are practically rip-offs, but I'll never be able to own the proper ones! I've been wanting to try the new Eyeko Fat Balms but I can't decide which colour to get, so recommendations would be much appreciated!

models own swatches

Models Own have recently revealed lots of new exciting colours, also known as the Car Key (geddit?!) collection. I returned some hair dyes to Boots on my lunch today (chickened out of doing it myself!) and exchanged them for a couple of new nail polishes - also you get a free lipgloss when you buy any two MO products at the moment! I don't really use lipgloss so I may save it for some kind of giveaway instead.

In the end I picked Purple Ash and Grace Green - there was only one of each left! The lipgloss shade is called Violet Cream.

Here's the two colours without any topcoat:

Matte topcoat:

..and the new Barry M Instant Nail Effects over the top:

Both colours, I think, are incredibly pretty and autumnal! Totally loving brownish-purple hues at the moment and for once the green doesn't make my skin look sick which can only be a good thing! I will probably waste some more of my student loan on the other colours.. you'll have to persuade me to do so though (yeah right)!

eyeko goodie bag review

So, I am finally swatching/photographing all the stuff I came home with from the Eyeko birthday event almost two weeks ago! Sorry for the delay!

I was lucky enough to receive three nail polishes, a double-ended eye pencil, graffiti eye liner pen and Magic Mascara in my goodie bag (along with the cutest tote ever and a tee I totally forgot to photograph!) and there were bits placed around the venue which everyone was helping themselves to so I did the same! All the nail polishes had been nabbed but I got a few lipglosses, the extra glow cream and some more graffiti pens (we were told they were faulty but mine seem fine!) - if only I got a black one!

Here's some swatches of the nail polishes:

Petite Polish - for French nails: if you have short nails (no white bits) then this won't need as many coats compared to if they're long as it doesn't cover the white very well for the first couple of coats! It's super sweet though.

Pastel Polish - for nice nails: I thought this would be a little like Rain Polish but it really isn't! It's a bit lighter, less grey and has subtle shimmer added to it which is what makes it so pretty.

Military Polish - for brave nails: I love this! I've recently been wearing this a lot with a matte topcoat, which I think just adds to the beauty of it (it almost looks black until you look closely!).

(for some reason my hands get smaller as the pictures go along, it looks funny to me!)

The rest of the goodies (from top):

Magic Mascara (pointless but still!)
London Lips Portobello
London Lips Soho
London Lips Primrose Hill
Graffiti Eyeliner (brown)
Graffiti Eyeliner (purple)
Line & Shine Duo pencil in Super Star (electric purple and plum)

Hope you enjoyed this post! If you've tried any of these products, what do you think? Also don't forget you can receive a free gift when entering code E10921 into the comments box when shopping on Eyeko!

barry m instant effects

Just a quick post because I'm about to fall asleep! I bought the new Barry M Instant Nail Effects polish the other day, along with Dusky Mauve from their standard range. I'm wearing both in this, although you can't really see the colour of the base properly (it's almost identical to Chanel's popular Paradoxal polish)!

I found it easy to apply, but you have to work quickly! I was impatient so I actually started blowing my nails and it took no time to see the effects turn out! It has a matte finish (with the polish I used anyway!), so you will either want to use a matte topcoat to mattify your base colour, or a glossy one so it matches the base! I think either would look pretty cool. I really didn't think this would be to my taste, but at least it looks pretty on my shelf! XO

fallen leaves

Today has been full of annoyances - I woke up late, managed to be almost on time for uni but the police closed the road off so my bus diverted and then I walked instead (whilst being stalked by some crazy South African boy that kept mumbling so it was even harder to understand him), and I forgot my sketchbooks because I was looking for my hospital letter all morning! Needless to say I am in total chill zone right now..

Onto better things now - I had my follow up appointment at the hospital today (for those of you that don't know, I've had two rounds of rhinoplasty since March this year!). Everything is fine now and I've been discharged! I'm so relieved, the doctors seem as happy as me too! Another plus is that I won't have to spend half my life in waiting rooms avoiding awkward stares from strangers for a very long time (hopefully!).

Anyway, here's what I wore today:

The blouse was from Topshop, I got so many compliments about it today! The bag was a freebie from Eyeko at the event last Saturday. Perfect for uni on days that it doesn't rain! I look a bit rubbish in all of these photos, I was just too tired to keep trying and they were all first shots. Sorry if you care!

After the hospital I had to return some stuff and did the usual and bought some stuff. The Peter Pan collar tunic is from Topshop, and came in a package I ordered last week so it doesn't really count! Pictured on the right with another of my beloved £7 Primark cardigans!

Both rings from Topshop (quality of the photo is absolutely vomtastic). I need to paint my nails!

After thinking this dress would never be mine, I saw it on the 'buy now or regret it later!' rail.. but it was a size 12 :( then I spotted one on the rack behind the till that has stock saved for other people, and it just so happened to be an 8! Thankfully there was no note on it so I was allowed to buy it (how sad do I sound?). It looks a bit maternity in the photo, but again it was the first and only snap as I'm too tired to take nice ones! The dress on the right was £12.99 from H&M, I'm still undecided but it fits like a glove so I'll probably keep it.

Finally got a new eye cream! The lovely assistant on the YSL counter in Debenhams showed me this set for £43 (when the eye roll-on and Touche Eclat are £24 each anyway) and includes 2 wake-up patches (will be saving them for a special occasion!) and a mini version of the foundation I use now but it's too dark so I'll be saving that for a giveaway! Debenhams are giving 750 bonus points when you spend £40 (if you have a Beauty Club card) which is a pretty good deal so everyone should get themselves to their local store pronto!

I also got the new Barry M Instant Effects nail polish and 'Dusky Mauve' which I haven't seen before - it looks like Chanel's Paradoxal, complete with shimmer unlike Models Own's 'Purple Grey'. I'll do some reviews and swatches of both soon! Superdrug has Barry M nail polish on sale (2 for £5) right now, including the effects one which is £3.95 so I got the other one for a pound! Queen of bargains right here!

Currently watching The Inbetweeners and deciding what colour to paint my talons - ciao!

lace and pixie dust

After two days off (doing nothing) I had to eventually leave the house for work today. Call me negative, but I'm getting really annoyed with the weather as of late! One minute it's cold and cloudy (just like Autumn should be!) so I put on something new and cosy, then as soon as I leave the house the sun comes out and I feel like I'm going to melt!

I got into town quite early and I had a bit of time to spare, so I popped into Dorothy Perkins to try on a dress that I'd seen in the window display a few times when I walked past, I'm still not decided on it but I bought it anyway! I was a little miffed that I only got 10% off when I could have got double the discount online (20% off everything ends at midnight tonight if anyone's interested!) but for £2.50 it wasn't worth the hassle.

Also found this dress (pictured right) in Primark finally! I've been on the lookout for it ever since I saw Gem post about it a little while back. I also ordered one on eBay last week, no faults were mentioned but the user sells factory seconds so I'll have to see what that one looks like. If it's bad I'll just send it back or maybe Primark will be able to accept a return? How sneaky of me! Also my arm looks disgusting, please ignore it.

Work was pretty dull, the 'highlight' of the day must have been discovering a dead mouse in the cupboard under the stairs - the poor thing smelled absolutely foul! I hate to think how long it may have been there :(

Anyway, it's time for a shower and then I best get cracking with some uni work! My lack of motivation would shock a Snorlax!

weekend wishlist #002

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Sadly the dress has sold out but it's still gorgeous and I still want it! The tan shoes remind me a little of the ChloĆ© A/W 2006 ones. I have no idea if I'll be able to pull them off but I'm popping them on my Christmas list regardless! The suede heels are too cute to pass up and as much as I cannot justify spending £40 on a backpack, my love for pandas takes over in my mind! I first read about the Luella book the other day and knew straight away that I had to have it! The rings don't really count as I've already ordered them (oops!) but they look pretty!

second star to the right

I've had a really lazy day today, I woke up early (as I always seem to do on my days off, typical!) and couldn't get back to sleep, so I watched Man v. Food (pretty sure Adam Richman is one of my favourite people ever, up there with Robert Downey Jr. et al!) for the rest of the morning with Beigel, where we met someone who took the cutest photo of Beigel, and I got a mammoth blister from wearing my Jimmy Choo Hunter boots for the first time in months and months! Definitely not a good look or feeling, let me tell you!

Anyway, onto better things - new purchases! I found a cute mulberry coloured dress in Primark for £9! It was the last of its colour on the rail and it just so happened to be in my size (well, I could have done with an 8 but hopefully this will shrink a little bit in the wash). Also I couldn't wait for my new NUS card to come through (so I could get a 20% discount) as there were only one or two of these dresses left on ASOS last week. I'm in love with it! One thing I don't like about some Peter Pan collars is that the colour doesn't carry on all the way around the neck, but it does on this one so I'm a happy bunny!

My hair (my fringe, mostly) looks ridiculous in these pictures, it's too short to fall nicely but long enough to still get in the way and it just won't sit right! I can't wait to go back near to my natural colour, I'll probably regret it for a while but I think I'll end up liking it! The whole idea of less maintenance is very appealing (although I hardly do anything to it now anyway)!

I missed The Inbetweeners on Monday so I'm off to catch the repeat now! Happy weekend to all.
