benefit hervana

benefit hervana blush*

Saw this blush at the Debenhams SS12 press day last week and it's not officially on sale till January, so imagine my utter shock when I opened a mystery parcel last night sent from San Francisco and this fell out of it! Anyway, Hervana (her + Nirvana = cute!) is, according to Benefit an 'orchid-blossom blush for a heavenly flush of enlightenment'. I must say I totally agree, it's so natural and innocent. I feel really angelic wearing it!

The product has four shades- lucky shell (lightest), divine peach, heavenly rose and berry delight (darkest). You can't get to the shades separately which would defeat the object anyway, as there is something so satisfying about swirling a fluffy brush picking up all the shades in one go! Can you tell I'm kind of in love with an inanimate object?

Another thing for those of you who are eagle-eyed, the boxes of the newer powders no longer have fully removable lids. I don't have Bella Bamba so haven't experienced this kind of packaging before. They have also revamped the box for Hoola though so maybe they are slowly doing it with all of them? Even better though, is the new little brush inside which is angled unlike the old ones, meaning I'll more than likely actually use it this time! Here are a couple of pictures of the new packaging vs. the older style if you don't have a clue what I'm talking about:

As you can see my older box has seen better days, and this is one of my newer ones! Thought I would show you Sugarbomb though, seeing as it's another powder with four different colours. I don't think they are very similar though. Hervana is pretty matte with little bits of shimmer, whereas the latter is more shimmery, darker and less pink.

So what do you think? Will you be achieving hervana, or do you have a favourite Benefit powder that you swear by? I have most of them but I love them all so would love to complete my collection if it's worth it!

  3. I've used perfect10 as I love the highlighter on the cheek bones. But sometimes find the two tones a little bland? And with winter I want more colour! I've gotta try this when it comes out. It looks amazing on you the colours blend so well together!XO

  11. I've been intrigued by Dandelion but worried it would be too pale - this one looks like a perfect substitution for me - lucky you to have that fall out of the post - nicer than the usual bank statements and junk mail!

  14. Ooh I like this one, the different colours in it are enough to tempt me. I have dandelion but I find it difficult to show up very well. I don't know about the brushes that come with it though, the rectangle shape puts me off using them a bit!

  16. This looks gorgeous! I've had Georgia and Dandelion and absolutely swear by them so I'm going to have to give this one a go - it looks like it's somewhere between the two in terms of being a peachy-pink (if you follow? :P) Can't wait until it comes into shops. You lucky thing!

  19. I have Coralista, and my mum has Dallas which I always pinch haha, but I'd love one like this with a few colours in one. The new packaging looks good too. I may have to treat myself to this at some point, cheers for the review!

  29. I LOVE Benefit's blushers. I tend to mix Coralista and Hoola - gives a more matt, slightly tanned blush, which I love.

the new packaging is happening for all the boxes slowly, just selling all the old boxes first (which actually have more of the product in them)
looks realyl nice on you, looking forward to when i get to have a go with it! :D
