I'm a long-term fan of YSL mascaras. The most famous to my knowledge is the Effet Faux Cils original, so I was really intrigued to see how the waterproof version would match up against it. The wand seems to be a lot thinner than the original version which doesn't really make sense to me. I personally use my regular mascara first (Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash!) and then this over the top just to make sure I have the effect I want, and the waterproof mascara holds it in place and just makes it look a million times better. I find that if I use a waterproof mascara on its own, the lashes look gloopy and weird. Even though I've used this on its own I still prefer to partner it with a regular mascara underneath to make the makeup removal less harsh too as waterproof formulas are notoriously hard to get off!
I would 100% repurchase this, and definitely recommend it. Please bear in mind I'm pretty lucky with my lashes in the sense that they're long and thick, but I always need help with holding a curl so if you're the same then this is for you! Have you ever tried this? What's your favourite mascara, regular or waterproof?

DeleteHave you done a twiggy inspired makeup eye here? If so maybe you could you perhaps do a post on it?! Your makeup looks ace that's all. Like you've done a subtle eyeliner line in your socket.

Hmmmmn, interesting to say you're a massive fan of YSL mascara's. I've only tried YSL Shocking, and whilst I LOVED the results to start with, throughout the day it just went more and more 'brittle' and parts would fall off over my face - not a good look! I don't know whether to try another or if they're all pretty similar?

It looks lovely on you; I got a sample of this recently and personally I really didn't like it - it seemed to take ages to dry on the lashes. The only waterproof mascara I really like is Dior Addict, plus the brush is nice and chunky! x
