cosmo ultimate women of the year awards 2012 #TheCosmos

Last night was pretty eventful! I got to attend Cosmopolitan's Ultimate Women of the Year Awards 2012. I had no idea what to expect but it was held at the V&A which I was very excited about! Upon arrival I was greeted with champagne in the entrance area and quickly forgot about the freezing cold outside. I had a glance at the table plan and also helped Professor Green find his name which was a bit daunting (his +1 was his nan - aww!).. soon enough everyone was escorted through to the Raphael Gallery which made for an absolutely incredible place to have dinner and an awards ceremony! Much wine, fancy food and vodka was consumed and our table was right at the front which was crazy! Fearne Cotton presented the awards and various celebrities announced the winning finalists, you can see all the winners here. It was a very enjoyable evening - so many amazing, inspirational and funny. Particularly loved Nicole Scherzinger's speech about the power of the vagina ("those things can REALLY take a pounding").

After the awards were all wrapped up we all headed back to the entrance for yet more drinks. Cocktails (Cosmopolitans of course!) were in every hand and everyone was as drunk as each other. Had a nice little chat about Romford (represent!) with the one and only Rylan and Russell Kane was a laugh - although a bit of a troll putting in Greg James' name when I asked him to tag himself. Really wish I'd have popped into the photobooth but in retrospect it was for the best - I was slightly worse for wear (if you can't tell) and didn't even make the after party. Boo hiss!

The evening was sponsored by VO5 so in the toilets a vast array of products were dotted around to keep your hair looking perfect. I made a beeline for the Give Me Texture Instant Oomph Powder for excessively plumped up roots and kept the style with some High Volume Extra Strong Hold Weather Resistant Hairspray. I must say there were some amazing hairstyles sported on the night, you can either take my word for it or go check out the gallery here.

The hotel* was amazing, biggest bath I've ever had the pleasure of soaking in, original works of art on the wall and insanely beautiful white baroque bed. It was hard to fight back the tears when it came to checking out (probably more due to the fact I was severely hungover and was running on very little sleep)! It was an insane night and I had so much fun. The goody bag was incredible too, my fingers are still numb from carrying it home today!

Who do you think had the best outfit of the night? Do you have an ultimate woman icon?

  13. Oh wow, that sounds like such an amazing evening! I wouldn't have known what Professor Green's real name was so that would have been a cringe-y moment! That hotel looks gorgeous, especially the bath, wow! xo
