Along with the Stereo Rose Mineralize Skinfinish, I ordered something else from the MAC Apres Chic collection - predictably, a lipstick. Haute Altitude caught my eye as it looked a lot like one of my favourite MAC shades in my ridiculously big collection, Please Me. What drew me in with this 'midtone blue pink' is the finish - although their matte range of lipsticks isn't drying in the brighter shades, I feel like my lips appear a little lacklustre when adorning a pale matte hue. For this reason I am completely, utterly head over heels in love with Haute Altitude! I swatched the two side by side on my hand, and they easily blended into each other - the main difference between them was that Haute Altitude appeared brighter thanks to the amplified finish. It applies like a dream, lasts a good amount of time on the lips (although I'm a liberal reapplier!) and I'm tempted to get a back up - or two - if I can before it sells out.
I can't believe I haven't posted about Please Me before actually; I'll pop up a review soon so you can see the difference, but for now you'll have to take my word for it when I say this is virtually the same in a different formula!
Haute Altitude has already earned its title as one of my all-time favourite MAC lipsticks - a perfect every day, almost vintage looking pink that makes the lips look plumper and brings a whole look together. What do you think?
